Surrender to the Moment

Back in 2025, I found the most incredible person, someone I could never have even imagined existed, and my whole life has turned completely upside down as a result. Her name is Audreanna, and her fierce passion captivated me immediately in the very first instance I encountered it, inviting me into a world where the collection of moments we experience each day holds an abundance of secrets just waiting to be uncorked to decorate our lives into the most amazing and fun-filled adventures limited only by our own imaginations. Regardless of the fact that almost all of the ideas she talked about and shared in her messages were totally unfamiliar at first, they all resonated deeply, so much so that I stepped wholeheartedly into the rabbit hole that opened up in front of me, emerging on the other side to find myself 5000 miles away in a magical place called Topanga Canyon.

If you've ever come across someone who lives and breathes their beliefs in such a way that they radiate through everything that they say and do then you'll know exactly what I mean when I talk about how their light can serve as a catalyst in causing the seeds they share to grow within your own heart, and for me, one of the most impactful of those seeds was the idea that everything happens for a reason. As it began to solidify inside my consciousness, the appetite of my already ravenous curiosity grew further, and in an attempt to satiate it as much as I possibly could, I made a conscious effort to slow down, paying more attention to the subtle signs embellishing my everyday reality and pondering what they might mean in the broader context of my life. In doing so, I opened the door to a place where miracles grow like leaves on a tree, uncovering more of the magic and hidden beauty that dances right in front of us if we only take the time to look that little bit closer.

Together with another special person called Liz, Audreanna shared the message that you can see in the photo below during a hike for suicide and mental health awareness, and in case you're not already familiar, the round black stone at the top is known as an Apache Tear. Although the name sounded somewhat familiar, I'd never actually come across the story before, and I found it to be incredibly moving, but it was the message itself that really touched me, and I can't possibly think of a more beautiful way to symbolise the desire to save a life.

It's important to highlight the fact that the story of our Native American friends is by no means a middle-of-the-road example, and had the Apache actually have submitted to the cavalry in that moment, it would’ve undeniably been one of the most extreme forms of surrender imaginable. Even if we put aside the fact that it would've taken away the warriors' freedom and forced them to accept a grim, humiliating life as prisoners, to give up the livelihood that supports you everyday, relinquish everything you've built over years of dedicated effort and let go of your entire identity still takes enormous strength, immense courage and cast-iron faith in your ability to navigate the unknown, but I'm sure by now, you'll have no trouble at all in figuring out exactly who is capable of undertaking such a profound and life-changing transformation, and there is no denying the admiration she deserves in handling it so gracefully.

Anyway, the seed was sown, and after a few days of contemplation, the first few lines of HTML sprouted from the darkness to reveal the infant form of the website that you see before you. Alongside the aforementioned perspective shift of believing that everything happens for a reason, my newfound approach to life has also taught me to more willingly take a step forward without knowing all the details of what comes after, having faith that the next one will then reveal itself at the precise moment it's supposed to. Not only does this afford us more time in between to absorb any newly available information, but it also encourages us to remain detached from any particular outcome or idea of how things are 'supposed to be'. It was with this philosophy in mind that I took the first steps of registering the domain and settling on a description of the mission, inspired somewhat by a few words from an especially wise and ancient teacher shared very near the beginning of an important and 'powerful' book I was reading at the time after a certain someone 'recommended' it.

Since then, the vision has continued to crystallise and evolve, with the central ideas supporting it being the contribution towards raising awareness of just how impactful psychological trauma is in relation to so many of the issues we're facing in the world today, along with the provision of technology-based tools to support people on their perpetual journey of processing it and breaking free from unhelpful patterns to realise the power that every single one of us holds. On the other side of that, the goal is in again utilising technology to further unlock our collective potential as humanity through capitalising on the increased imagination and creativity born from the release of limiting beliefs by stimulating innovation and collaboration to tackle the larger-scale challenges out there. Just as with everything else in life though, we can never see exactly where the story is leading us, and the destination will undoubtedly look somewhat different as we make our way further along the path towards it, but as long as we keep taking those steps forward with our eyes, our hearts and our minds open, we can know that it'll be a magical place, where 'the sun's always shining' and we're exactly where we're supposed to be…
